CST (Controlled Start Transmission) Drive Systems

Face conveyors in modern high-performance longwalls have to move enormous loads while withstanding huge load changes. Bucyrus CST drive systems transmit drive forces of over 1,200 kW per drive safely, reliably and in a way that protects the system. They make optimum use of power, synchronize motors and drives on both the main and auxiliary drives, and thus prevent unnecessary load changes. CST drive systems optimize drive output for maximum production capacities.

With extensive automation technology and its patented clutch, it offers a series of benefits over conventional drives. More than 450 CST drives are in service worldwide, providing an impressive demonstration of the power of this technology.
