"Quality Conveyor Belt Systems from Bucyrus Help Miners Reduce Costs, a Feature of "Industry Today" on Industrialinfo.com

SUGAR LAND--February 26, 2009--Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) will host special guest Bucyrus International, Inc. (NASDAQ:BUCY) (South Milwaukee, Wisconsin) as part of this week’s "Industry Today" webcast. Saving money in today’s market is on everybody’s mind. Global mining equipment manufacturer Bucyrus’ Belt Systems division is well positioned to help companies that move bulk materials do just that. In business since 1880 and based on six continents with more than 6,500 employees, Bucyrus is well known for serving the surface and underground mining industry. The lesser-known Belt Systems division is coming into its own, offering full-service conveyor belt systems, drives, take-ups, idlers and replacement rolls for any bulk material handling application.

What makes Bucyrus’ Belt Systems division unique to the industry?

1. Expansive product line
2. Second-generation rolls
3. 100% quality, triple tested
4. Maintenance-free -- greased for life
5. Standard warranty: three years to life

Mike Brunette, Director of Belt Systems for Bucyrus, said, "Bucyrus’ expansive product line can handle any bulk material handling application with belt widths ranging from 18 to 96 inches, and rolls and idlers in diameters of 4, 5, 6 and 7 inches." Typically, idlers are made out of steel and become a maintenance wear problem. "Bucyrus’ EXALON idlers, made out of polyethylene, provide two-three times the life of typical steel rolls and idlers, and can help customers reduce replacement and operational costs over the long term," Mr. Brunette said. "In addition, our products go through a thorough triple-test quality-control process during the manufacturing process in our factories. The rolls are tested for total indicator runout, torque and end play. Once the product passed the quality-control test, it is date stamped and given a serial number for traceability. Our rolls are sealed and require no greasing for life, and our standard warranty is three years to life while the industry standard is about six months."
