September 29, 2009 Bucyrus International, Inc. is a partner in the 2009 Condella’s “Coats for Kids” campaign organized by WITI Fox 6. This is the 24th year of the campaign that has helped thousands and thousands of area children stay warm.
People are encouraged to go through their closets and pull out any winter coats that no longer fit their children and donate them to “Coats for Kids.” The gently used children’s coats will be cleaned by ITU and distributed by The Salvation Army to other children who need them.
Children’s coats in good condition can be donated September 21 - October 16 in the Heritage Building at Bucyrus. The Heritage Building is located at 1970 10th Avenue in South Milwaukee. It will be open to the public Monday – Friday 11:30 am – 12:30 pm during the campaign drive. In addition, our museum, which is located in the Heritage Building, is open most first and third Saturdays of each month from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. Museum dates and hours are subject to change, so please call ahead 414.768.4001.
Bucyrus’ community partner, United Way of Greater Milwaukee has generously offered to host a collection site as well. Coats can be dropped off at 225 West Vine Street in Milwaukee.
Last year, over 10,800 coats were collected. Let’s see if we can help to keep even more children warm this winter. Please join us in supporting this worthy cause!
