VAST Shovel Simulator

Get the Edge on operator training with Bucyrus' VAST System for Bucyrus Electric Mining Shovels. VAST is a PC-based simulator that realistically simulates the controls of a Bucyrus shovel. It is designed to reduce training costs, increase training effectiveness and increase productivity.

VAST precisely replicates the machine controls and responses, as well as typical scenarios, which are found in mining operations. It provides a safe, controlled and convenient way to practice and assess the skills of students.

Bucyrus provides in-field training for its electric shovels, draglines and rotary blasthole drills. Training is conducted by Bucyrus certified instructors who have years of experience with practical, in-the-seat shovel operation at mines around the globe. Training is tailored to fit the specific needs of your mining operations to allow you to achieve the maximum productivity from your Bucyrus machine.

SIEMENS IGBT Training

Training your personnel to quickly troubleshoot and repair problems is key to maintaining high availability and productivity of your mining equipment.

Siemens IBGT and IGBT Level II training classes are available monthly at the Siemens facility in Alpharetta, Georgia, USA. Classes are available regional, and provided in English and Spanish. Contact the South Milwaukee Technical Training Department for additional information on available IGBT courses or to enroll in upcoming classes.
